1. Is he a good speaker? Why/why not?
2. What were his good characteristics as a speaker? His bad?
3. How did he use his voice (vocal inflection) to make his speech more effective?
4. How did he use gestures to make his speech more effective?
5. Why do you think they selected him as their keynote speaker? (Keynote speakers are the main speakers of a meeting, convention, etc.)
6. What was the main point of his message? Was it an important message? Why/why not?
7. Do you think the teachers believed his message? Did it inspire them? Why/why not?
1. YES!! He is a good speaker because he got up there in front of 20,000 people, he is only in the 5th grade and in the words of Mrs. Sims, he had good ham sandwiching.
2. He addressed the entire audience. He also spoke loud so everyone could hear him and also to get his point across.
3.During the high points of the speech or the more important parts his tone and voice went up. He would emphasize words that he thought was important.
4.At one point in the speech he started gesturing to a lot of the towns that were there and used different gestures for each one to draw attention.
5. Because a 5th grader being the key note speaker at an assembly of 20,000 people just doesn't seem logical. He is also a very good speaker. He is very vocal and he isn't afraid of it.
6.That the school is important and that everyone at the speech should believe in the kids at that school. I think that it is an important message because it is getting the people there to believe in their children and the school system.
7.I think anyone would believe his message, he presented it so well. I think it might have inspired them, everyone is different in the way they think and some of the teachers may not have believed the message. For the majority though, I think that everyone believed him.
